Sorry Not Sorry

Our recent exploration of the history and practice of covenant is only one part of the picture. The relational promises that undergird our Unitarian Universalist community are maintained and repaired when we practice accountability. But what does true accountability mean, and how does it apply to a religious community?

Relational Promises

Unitarian Universalism is a covenantal tradition rather than a creedal one, which means that we are held together not by our beliefs but by our relationships. A covenant is a promise and a practice, a living document, and an invitation to participate. UUCC being in covenant is a concept that we all must learn and practice.

Why Not a Star?

Epiphany is the celebration of the wise ones’ arrival with gifts for the infant Jesus after they followed the star over hill and dale. The first days of January are a great time to consider our own gifts and guiding stars as well as our intentions for the new year.

Christmas Service

In our annual tradition, we celebrate Christmas Eve with a service of readings and carols and candlelight. The service will begin at 7PM and you are welcome to join us either in-person in Sanctuary C or via Zoom.

Elf Christmas Pageant

It is time once again for our annual UUCC Christmas pageant! Each year, our youngest congregants come together during the holiday season to create this special gift for their church community. Our pageant this year is a retelling of the movie 🎅 Elf 🎁, and was written and directed by our very own Amelia Sorensen. We hope that you will join us for this family friendly, beloved UUCC tradition!

When the Holidays Hurt

This meditative service will provide an opportunity to honor the complexity of grief at the holidays. Whether you are experiencing personal or collective grief, let us come together and hold for one another a circle of caring that makes room for all of us to be present and find connection.

Archetypes of Activism

The past few weeks have been full of calls to action from every corner, but it isn’t always easy to figure out how to take action. The movement needs all of us – even if it isn’t your role to take to the streets in protest. There are many ways to work for justice, equity, and compassion in our world. We will consider different models for how to frame and engage in the work. Because we need all of us to get all of us free.
