Kaleidoscope of Womanhood & Flower Ceremony

UUCC Women’s Retreat participants, who recently shared time together at Camp Wabanna in Edgewater, MD, share some of their experiences and reflections from the weekend together near the water. We will also share in the annual ritual of flower ceremony, so bring flowers to share!

Rooted and Reaching A Musical 60th Anniversity Celebration

We will celebrate UUCC’s 60th anniversary with a musical worship service! It will be a collaborative musical celebration, with choir anthems, a special selection by our youngest singers, and rousing hymns, hymn-anthems, and responses. And we will hear reflections from congregants — one who has joined in each decade of the congregation’s life — who will share a special memory of a time when they and the community were thriving (where we are rooted), as well as name something they’re excited about as they imagine UUCC’s future (that toward which we are reaching).

Equitable Faith

In articulating a commitment to equity, the proposed revision of UUA Article II states, “We declare that every person has the right to flourish,” and we will “use our time, wisdom, attention, and money,” in service of that right. What does Love compel the person of faith to sacrifice in service of equity?

Sacred Imperfection

On this Sunday when we observe Transgender Day of Visibility, and when many Christians celebrate Resurrection Sunday, we consider our UU commitment to transformation, another of the values expressed in the new draft of Article II. Rev. Paige Getty explores what it means to “collectively transform and grow spiritually and ethically” within a tradition that is “never complete and never perfect”.
