We humans are meaning-making, pattern-seeking creatures. When we turn our attention to a text to discern its meaning and how it applies to our own life, we call that “exegesis.” This Sunday, join Rev. Jen Raffensperger, member of UUCC and minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York, to examine two texts — one ancient and one modern — in relationship with one another and what they can tell us about the human need to search for answers, whether in the stars above or the ground below our feet, or anywhere in-between.

Use your senses to tap into play, surprise, and presence through music, meditation, and other elements of the service. We’ll taste, touch, hear, see, and smell through making music, eating bubbles, embodying our delight, and more, as we remember what delights us, and leave with a stronger capacity to welcome delight into our lives.

Join us for a service dedicated to reflection and awareness about gun violence in our local community and beyond. The program will include voices from gun violence survivors in Howard County and their loved ones. This service is facilitated by Howard County Moms Demand Action as part of National Gun Violence Awareness / Wear Orange Weekend. Attendees are encouraged to wear orange to show support for gun violence survivors. To be followed by a coffee hour and facilitated labyrinth walk.
