Join Revs. Kären Rasmussen and Louise Green as we focus on imagination, creativity, and the many pathways that bright ideas open up. Rev. Paige Getty and UUCC members lead us in celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31), as we honor beauty, wholeness, and resilience among those who are too often under attack for being exactly who they are.

Risking Discomfort | Rev. Paige Getty

In just two weeks, Rev. Paige Getty will begin a 5-month sabbatical—time for reflection, renewal, study, and discernment. In this service, she’ll reflect on her intentions for that time away from the routines of UUCC work, including the intention to “risk discomfort”!

Why Are You You? | UUCC Youth Group

The teens of YRUU — UUCC’s youth group — explore the question embedded in their name: “Why are you you?” In asking themselves this question, they arrived at more questions: “Why do you do what you do?” and “Why do you believe what you believe?” and more. In this service, teens will share personal reflections in response to these questions and challenge all of us to plumb the depths of the unanswerable whys.

A Place to Call Home | Rev. Paige Getty

Rev. Paige Getty, Dana Sohr, and Colette Gelwicks will explore our relationship with the community in which we reside—both as individuals and as a religious institution. We’ll reflect especially on the current housing situation (and what we know about who can and cannot afford to reside in Howard County), on the proposed Howard County General Plan (aka HoCo by Design), and on how we can make a difference in the livability of this community.

Values of Raggedy Ann | Rev. Paige Getty

As adults who believe strongly that so-called “children’s” stories aren’t just for children, Rev. Paige Getty, Kelli Danaker, and Becky Reese—who was the winner of the 2022 sermon raffle at the UUCC auction—will share excerpts and lessons from Johnny Gruelle’s Raggedy Ann and Andy stories that model living the values of love, kindness, honesty, generosity, caring, and helpfulness. Everyone, of every age, is welcome in this interactive, multi-generational worship service.

In worship services throughout the month of February, we will consider different kinds of love — mature love, divine love, love as justice-making. In this service, Rev. Paige Getty and the Stewardship Council and CORE Team celebrate how each of us expresses love of community in our stewardship of UUCC through time, treasure, and talent.

In worship services throughout the month of February, we will consider different kinds of love — love as justice-making, divine love, love of community. On this first Sunday, Rev. Paige Getty will reflect on the idea of romance and intimacy, and its diversity, through the lens of maturity — honoring how love potentially deepens and evolves over time.

The Why and The What of Sabbatical | Rev. Paige Getty

In anticipation of Rev. Paige Getty’s upcoming sabbatical (April through August), the sabbatical committee will offer reflections and information about how sabbatical is intended to benefit both minister and congregation.
